The window The event runs late September into early October, with the 2026 edition opening on 27 September. The Mediterranean season is winding down, which means the crowd is smaller, more concentrated, and entirely composed of people who have already spent their summer money elsewhere. Saint-Tropez in late September is quiet enough to notice who is still there.

The arrivals The old port will raft up with classic J-Class yachts and modern maxis. The connoisseur owners arrive by yacht or helicopter. The maxi racing syndicates arrive by yacht, with crew rotations and logistics handled separately. Expect the port to look like a museum of very expensive wood and bronze, with a few carbon-fiber maxis parked nearby for contrast.

The week Racing happens in the bay during the day. The crews and owners raft up in the old port for a week of parties that are less about networking and more about confirming who still has the resources to keep a J-Class in racing condition. The guest list is not public. The invitations are extended by the owners themselves, to other owners, to other syndicate principals, to the people who understand why you would spend eight figures on a boat that is older than most countries.
