Monaco Yacht Show: separate your pass from your yacht appointments

A harbour full of yachts is a programme to navigate, not a promise that every vessel is open to every ticket holder. Before arranging a visit, write down the part of the show you actually want to experience: the exhibition, a particular dockside area, or an onboard appointment. That distinction should drive the next check.

What the organiser says for 2026

The official ticket page lists the show from 23 to 26 September 2026. It says ordinary visitor access to the Dockside Area runs from Thursday through Saturday. Wednesday access is reserved for specified invited guests and VIP pass categories. It also states that onboard visits are at the discretion of exhibiting shipyards and brokers. The FAQ describes yacht visits as appointments arranged with the exhibitor.

These are the organiser's published conditions reviewed on 20 September, not a booking confirmation. The ticket selector is the place to verify the exact product, day and current price. We are not quoting a fare or claiming that an appointment is available.

Make a three-line access record

For each intended visit, record three separate answers. First, the day and pass category you are considering. Second, whether that category admits you to the relevant area on that day. Third, whether the exhibitor has confirmed the onboard appointment you want. Keep an unanswered field visibly unresolved.

A fictional example: you plan a Thursday exhibition visit and would like to see one named yacht. Area access may fit your pass, but your note should still say appointment requested until the exhibitor confirms. Do not put an unconfirmed boarding time into the itinerary as though it were a reservation.

Ask one useful question

Use the exhibitor contact provided by the organiser. A concise enquiry states the yacht or project, your purpose, the proposed day, the number of visitors and any access requirement that matters. Ask what confirmation and identification to bring. There is no need to embellish your role or claim buyer status you do not have.

Keep the reply with the ticket record. If a broker proposes a different time or meeting point, update both the calendar and the note. A screenshot of a yacht listing is useful for identification; it does not replace the exhibitor's acceptance.

Leave room for a worthwhile alternative

Plan one confirmed anchor appointment, if you have one, and a flexible exhibition block. Avoid an itinerary that depends on a chain of unconfirmed yacht visits. If a request is declined, decide whether the public exhibition still makes the trip worthwhile before adding travel commitments.
